DESCRIPTION

As a member of the SWIFT™ family of dc/dc regulators,the TPS54380 low-input voltage, high-output current,synchronous buck PWM converter integrates allrequired active components. Using the TRACKIN pinwith other regulators, simultaneous power up and downare easily implemented. Included on the substrate withthe listed features are a true, high-performance, voltageerror amplifier that enables maximum performance andflexibility in choosing the output filter L and Ccomponents; an undervoltage-lockout circuit to preventstart-up until the input voltage reaches 3 V; an internallyor externally set slow-start circuit to limit inrushcurrents; and a power-good output useful forprocessor/logic reset.
The TPS54380 is available in a thermally enhanced20-pin TSSOP (PWP) PowerPAD™ package, whicheliminates bulky heatsinks. TI provides evaluationmodules and the SWIFT™ designer software tool to aidin quickly achieving high-performance power supplydesigns to meet aggressive equipment developmentcycles.
