DescriptionThe TL1431 deviceisa precision programmable
reference with specified thermal stability over
automotive, commercial, and military temperature
ranges. The output voltage can be setto any value
between VI(ref) (approximately 2.5 V) and 36V with
two external resistors (see Figure 25). This device
hasa typical output impedance of 0.2 Ω. Active
output circuitry providesa sharp turnon characteristic,
making the devicean excellent replacement for Zener
diodes and other typesof referencesin applications
such as onboard regulation, adjustable power
supplies, and switching power supplies.
The TL1431Cis characterized for operation over the
commercial temperature rangeof 0°Cto 70°C. The
TL1431Qis characterized for operation over the full
automotive temperature rangeof –40°Cto 125°C.
The TL1431Mis characterized for operation over the
full military temperature rangeof –55°Cto 125°C.
