DESCRIPTIONThe SN65LVCP15isa high performance serial link mux for usein Fibre Channel (1.0625 Gb/s), Gigabit Ethernet
(1.25 Gb/s), and other high speed interface applications.A common application involvesa serializer/deserializer
(SerDes), suchas the TLK2201B, which would normally be connectedto the IN± and OUT± portsin orderto
provide duplicate setof links on the IN0/OUT0 and IN1/OUT1 ports. This typeof applicationis often usedto
implement high speed test ports that canbe monitored without affecting the serial data streamof the application. popular applicationisin Line Cards, that use serial links froma SerDes like TLK2201B (SLLS585), where the
SN65LVCP15 provides redundant, hot-swappable linksto redundant Switch Fabric Cards.
During normal operation,INis sentto both OUT0 and OUT1 whose buffers are enabled when OE0 and OE1 are
HIGH. OUT0 can select betweenIN and IN1. OUT1 can select betweenIN and IN0. OUT can select between
IN0 and IN1. Link Replicator applications, suchas the Line Cardto Switch Card links,INis transmittedto both OUT0 and
OUT1 which either IN0or IN1is selectedat OUT.In host Adapter applications, IN goesto OUT0 (an internal
connector) which returns data and IN0. IN0is loopedto OUT1 (an external connector) which returns data on IN1
and then backto the SerDeson OUT.
