General DescriptionThe SCAN928028 integrates eight serializer devices intoa
single chip. The SCAN928028 can simultaneously serializeto eight 10-bit data streams. The 10-bit parallel inputs are
LVTTL signal levels. The serialized outputsare LVDS signals
with extra drive currentfor point-to-point and lightly loaded
multidrop applications. Each serializer block in the
SCAN928028 operates independentlyby using strobes from single shared PLL.
The SCAN928028 usesa single +3.3V power supply witha
typical power dissipationof 740mW (3.3V/ PRBS/66 MHz).
Each serializer channel hasa unique power down controlto
further conserve power consumption.
For high-speed LVDS serial data transmission, line qualityis
essential, thus the SCAN928028 includes an @SPEED
TEST function. Each Serializer channel has the abilityto
internally generatea PRBS data pattern. This patternis
receivedby specific deserializers (SCAN921224) which
have the complement PRBS verification circuit. The deseri-
alizer checksthe data patternforbit errors and reports any
errorsonthe test verification pinsonthe deserializer.
