General Description
The MF10 consistsof2 independentand extremely easyto
use, general purpose CMOS active filter building blocks.
Each block, together withan external clockand3to 4resis-
tors,can produce various2nd order functions. Each building
blockhas3 output pins. Oneofthe outputscanbe config-
uredto perform eitheran allpass, highpassora notch func-
tion;the remaining2 outputpins perform lowpassand band-
pass functions. The center frequencyofthe lowpassand
bandpass2nd order functionscanbe either directly depen-
dentonthe clock frequency,or they can dependon both
clock frequencyand external resistor ratios.The centerfre-
quencyofthe notchand allpass functionsis directly depen-
dentonthe clock frequency, whilethe highpass centerfre-
quency dependson both resistor ratioand clock.Upto4th
order functionscanbe performedby cascadingthetwo2nd
order building blocksofthe MF10; higher than4th order
functions canbe obtainedby cascading MF10 packages.
Anyofthe classical filter configurations (suchas Butter-
worth, Bessel, Cauerand Chebyshev)canbe formed.
