General Description
The LP2952and LP2953are micropower voltage regulators
with verylow quiescent current (130mA typicalat1mA
load)and verylow dropout voltage (typ.60mVat light load
and470 mVat250mA load current). Theyare ideally suited
for battery-powered systems. Furthermore,the quiescent
current increases only slightlyat dropout, which prolongs
batterylife.
The LP2952and LP2953 retainallthe desirable characteris-
ticsofthe LP2951,but offer increased output current, addi-
tional features,andan improved shutdown function.
The internal crowbar pullsthe output down quickly whenthe
shutdownis activated.
The errorflag goeslowifthe output voltage dropsoutof
regulation.
Reverse battery protectionis provided.
The internal voltagereferenceis made available forexternal
use, providinga low-T.C. reference with very goodlineand
load regulation.
The partsare availableinDIPand surface mount packages.
