General DescriptionThe LMX5001 Dedicated Bluetooth™ Link Controller has
been designedto interface with the LMX3162, Single Chip
Radio Transceiverto providea rapid design pathtoa com-
plete Bluetooth physical layer.
The LMX5001 also offersa low power and cost competitive
solutiontothe Bluetooth Link Controller function.
The LMX5001 canbe attachedtoa Link Management Con-
troller,or Host processor performing the Link Management
functionto implementa complete Bluetooth interface.
Bluetoothisa world-wide recognized wireless communica-
tion standard, which operatesinthe ISM band (2.4 GHz),of-
feringa low cost and convenient wireless replacementfor
data/voice cable links between fixed and mobile electronic
devices.
Utilizinga GFSK modulation scheme, with frequency hop-
ping, Bluetoothis ableto offera low power, low cost, robust
and spectrally efficient spread spectrum packet data system.
