General DescriptionThe LMC6442is idealfor battery powered systems, where
verylow supply current (less thanone microampper ampli-
fier)and Rail-to-Rail output swingis required.Itis character-
izedfor 2.2Vto 10V operation, andat 2.2V supply,the
LMC6442is idealfor single (Li-Ion)ortwocell (NiCadoral-
kaline) battery systems.
The LMC6442is designedfor battery powered systemsthat
require long servicelife throughlow supply current, suchas
smokeandgas detectors,and pageror personal communi-
cations systems.
Operation from single supplyis enhancedbythe wide com-
mon mode input voltage range whichincludesthe ground(or
negative supply)for ground sensing applications. Verylow
(5fA, typical) inputbias currentand nearconstantsupplycur-
rent over supply voltage enhancethe LMC6442’s perfor-
mance nearthe end-of-life battery voltage.
Designedfor closed loop gainsof greater than plustwo(or
minus one),the amplifierhas typically9.5 KHz GBWP (Gain
Bandwidth Product). Unity gaincanbe used witha simple
compensation circuit, which also allows capacitive loadsofto300pFtobe driven,as describedinthe Application
Notes section.
For compact assemblythe LMC6442is availableinthe
MSOP8pin package, aboutonehalfthesize requiredbythe
SOIC8pin package.8pin DIPand8pin SOICare also
