General Description

The LM4931isan integrated audio subsystem that supports
voice and digital audio functions. The LM4931 includesa
high quality stereo DAC, voice band codec,a stereo head-
phone amplifier anda high-power high efficiency mono
speaker amplifier.Itis primarily designed for demanding
applicationsin mobile phones and other portable devices.
The LM4931 featuresanI2S serial interfacefor full range
audio,a 16-bit PCM bi-directional serial interfacefor the
voice band codec andanI2 C/SPI compatible interfacefor
control. Thefull range music path featuresan SNRof 86dB
withan 18-bit 48kHz input. The headphone amplifier delivers least 26mWRMS toa32Ω single-ended stereo load with
less than1% distortion (THD+N) when AVDD= 3.3VDC. The
mono speaker amplifier deliversupto 570mWRMS intoan8Ω
load with less than 1% distortion when AVDD= 3.3VDC.
The LM4931 employs advanced techniquesto reduce power
consumption,to reduce controller overhead, andto eliminate
click and pop. Boomer audio power amplifiers were de-
signed specificallyto provide high quality output power with minimal amountof external components.Itis therefore
ideally suitedfor mobile phone and other low voltage appli-
cations where minimal power consumption, PCB area, and
cost are primary requirements.
