General DescriptionThe LM386isa power amplifier designedfor usein low volt-
age consumer applications. The gainis internallysetto20to
keep external part count low,but the additionofan external
resistor and capacitor between pins1 and8will increasethe
gainto any valueupto 200.
The inputs are ground referenced while the outputis auto-
matically biasedto one half the supply voltage. The quies-
cent power drainis only24 milliwatts when operating froma volt supply, makingthe LM386 idealfor battery operation.
