General Description
The LM2984 positive voltage regulator features three inde-
pendentand tracking outputscapableof deliveringthe pow-for logic circuits, peripheral sensorsand standby memorya typical microprocessor system. The LM2984 includes
circuitry which monitorsbothits ownhigh-currentoutputand
alsoan externalmP.Ifany error conditionsare sensedin
either,a reset errorflagissetand maintained untilthe mal-
function terminates. Since these functionsare includedin
the same package withthe three regulators,a great saving
inboard spacecanbe realizedinthe typical microprocessor
system. The LM2984 also features verylow dropout volt-
ageson eachofits three regulator outputs (0.6Vattherat- output current). Furthermore,the quiescent currentcan reducedto1mAinthe standby mode.
Designed alsofor vehicular applications,the LM2984and
all regulated circuitryare protected from reverse batteryin-
stallationsor 2-battery jumps. Familiar regulator features
suchas short circuit and thermal overload protectionare
also provided. Fixed outputsof5Vare availableinthe plas-
tic TO-220 power package.
