full input signal range. The HCF4066B consistsof
four independent bilateral switches.A single
control signalis required per switch. Both thep
andn deviceina given switchare biased ONor
OFF simultaneouslyby the control signal.As
shownin schematic diagram, the wellof the
n-channel deviceon each switchis either tiedto
the input whenthe switchisONortoVSS when
the switchis OFF. This configuration eliminates
the variationof the switch-transistor threshold
voltage with input signal, and thus keepstheON
resistancelow overthefull operating signal range.
The advantages over single channel switches
include peak input signal voltage swings equalto
thefull supply voltage, and more constant ON
impedance over the input signal range. For
sample and hold applications, however, the
HCF4016Bis recommended.
