General DescriptionThe DS75176Bisa high speed differential TRI-STATE®
bus/line transceiver designedto meetthe requirementsof
EIA standard RS485 with extended common mode range
(+12Vto −7V),for multipoint data transmission. Inaddition,it compatiblewith RS-422.
The driverand receiver outputs feature TRI-STATE capabil-
ity,forthe driver outputs overthe entire common mode
rangeof +12Vto −7V.Bus contentionor fault situationsthat
cause excessive power dissipation withinthe deviceare
handledbya thermal shutdown circuit, which forcesthe
driver outputsintothe high impedance state. specificationsare guaranteed overthe0to 70˚C tem-
peratureand 4.75Vto 5.25V supply voltage range.
