General Description
The ’VHC240isan advanced high speed CMOS octalbus
buffer fabricated with silicon gate CMOS technology.It
achieves high speed operation similarto equivalent Bipolar
Schottky TTL while maintainingthe CMOSlow power dissi-
pation.The ’VHC240isan inverting TRI-STATE buffer hav-
ingtwo active-low output enables. These devicesarede-
signedto drive buslinesor buffer memory address registers. input protection circuit ensures that0Vto7Vcanbe
appliedtothe input pins without regardtothe supply volt-
age. This devicecanbe usedto interface5Vto3V systems
andtwo supply systems suchas battery backup. This circuit
prevents device destructiondueto mismatched supplyand
input voltages.
