DescriptionThe TPS6513x is dual-output DC-DC converter
generatinga positive output voltage upto 15V anda
negative output voltage downto –15V with output
currentsina 200-mA rangein typical applications,
depending on input voltageto output voltage ratio.
Witha total efficiency upto 85%, the deviceis ideal
for portable battery-powered equipment. The input
voltage rangeof 2.7Vto 5.5V allows the devicesto powered from batteriesor from fixed 3.3-Vor 5-V
supplies. The TPS6513x comesina small 4-mm×4- VQFN-24 package. Together witha minimum
switching frequencyof 1.25 MHz, the device enables
designing small power supply applications becauseit
requires onlya few small external components.
The converter operates witha fixed frequency PWM
control topology and,if power-save modeis enabled, usesa pulse-skipping modeat light-load currents.It
operates with only 500-µA device quiescent current.
Independent enable pins allow power-up and power-
down sequencingfor both outputs. The device hasan
internal current limit overvoltage protection anda
thermal shutdown for highest reliability under fault
conditions.
