General Description
This CMOS device provideslow cost tone-dialing capability microprocessor-controlled telephone applications. 4-bit
binary datais decoded directly, withoutthe needfor conver-
sionto simulated keyboard inputs requiredby standard
DTMF generators. Withthe TONE ENABLE input low,the
oscillatoris inhibitedandthe deviceisinalow poweridle
mode.Onthe low-to-high transitionof TONE ENABLE, data latchedintothe deviceandthe selected tonepair from
the standard DTMF frequenciesis generated.An open-drain
N-channel transistor providesa MUTE output during tone
generation.
