FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTIONTEA7530 performs the following functions:
The circuit amplifies the incoming signal and
feedsitto the loudspeaker. The Antidistortion systemis incorporated for
low current available from line. The maximum power available ona 50Ω im-
pedanceloudspeakeris 25mWat3V and 100mW 5V.

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTIONTEA7530isa8 pin DIP integrated circuit provid-
ing the following facilities: Loudspeakeramplifier Antidistortion feed-back system (limited line
current compensation)
1.1. LOUDSPEAKER AMPLIFIER
The amplifieris divided into2 mainsections. Automatic Gain Control (AGC) Push-pull amplifier (bridge structure) The AGC sectionis used for the antidistortion
system.♦When usedina telephone setto avoid larsen
effect the AGC automatically decreases loud-
speaker amplifier gain.
♦When the required output level exceeds the
capabilitiesof the available current, the AGC
decreases the loudspeaker amplifier gainto
avoids distortion. The output amplifier usesa double push-pull
configuration(H bridge)to get maximum dynamic
range under limited supply conditions.

Figure10
TEA7530
Amplifier DC Supply transmission mode, the supply voltageis con-
trolledby the internal shunt DC regulator. For this
reason, the TEA7530 should be supplied froma
current source (see: supply considerations). antidistortion systemis embodied which pro-
vides AGC controlto avoid loudspeaker distortion
under current-limited conditions.
AGC Circuit actionWhen the supply VLSis insufficient, the voltageat
pin8, falls below the reference voltage 1.2V, re-
sultingin transistor (TR) being switched off, re-
sulting zero current flowin resistorR. This state
enables the gain control system. Under these
conditions, the shunt DC supply will switchata
rate determined by the time constantof the RC
networkon pin2.
This switching action accomodates normal
speech characteristic under low supply condi-
tions.
The AGC willbe switched ON when the levelon
Pin2is greater thana reference voltageof 0.4V.
Supply Considerations Current MODE- Pin8is open (VLS =VLS1)or
connectedto ground with an external resistor
(Rext) higher than 16KΩ. The typical valueof VLS:
VLS= 1.2V 40.5KΩ+( 27KΩ⁄⁄ REXT) 27KΩ⁄⁄ REXT) .
The AGC sectionis workingas describedin the
previous paragraph. Voltage MODE- Pin8is shortedor connected GND witha resistor (REXT) lower than 16KΩ.In
this condition the circuit must be supplied witha voltageof3to 5.5V.In this case the AGC
sectionis permanently ON. Pin2 mustbe shorted GND (in voltage mode only)to avoid perma-
nent attenuationof the signalat audio input
PIN FUNCTIONS
PIN1: GND.
PIN2: AUTOMATIC GAIN CONTROL FILTER
The antidistortion system responseis adjustedby
the R-C networkon this pin.
The AGC will be switched ON when the levelon
pin2is greater thana reference voltageof 0.4V,
the RC-network charges (current source ON)or
discharges (current source OFF) accordingto
supplyvoltage.
