DESCRIPTION

STV5728is intendedfor4 headsVCR applications
with HIFI.It includesall the electricalfunctions nec-
essaryto achieveplay-backandrecordprocessing.
Recordor PlaybackMode canbe selectedthrough
SWR Pin. SWH allowsto select the video head
input (H1SPor H2SP,H1LPor H2LP), while SWM
will select the mode SPor LP. The SWFMH will
selecttheFM input headsin Playbackandwill mute
the HIFI record amplifierin RecordMode.
Playback Mode
(Video)
Signals appliedon H1SP,H2SP, H1LP and H2LP
input pins will be amplifiedby 60dB voltage gain.
IOUTSP and IOUTLP Pins are AC short-circuitedto
ground. The input signal canbe selected through
SWH and SWM inputs and the corresponding out-
put signal willbe availableon Pin CPB. The offset
voltage between the two selected headsis auto-
matically cancelledafter32 switchinghead cycles. constant output signal will be available on Pin
YPB thanksto an AGC function (Automatic Gain
Control). The time constantof the AGCis deter-
minedby the capacitor value connectedto CAGC
Pin. For Automatic Tracking,a signal whichisa
functionof the selected input signal amplitudeis
present on Pin TRIV. For Trick Mode,a signal
resulting from the comparisonof the input signal
amplitudeis availableon ENVC Pin.

Pin FMPB.
Record Mode
(HIFI)
The currentinput appliedonFMRINPinis amplified
throughan Automatic Gain Control amplifier. The
recording level canbe adjusted thanksto the RADJ
resistanceconnectedto TRIV Pin.Special care has
beentakentospeedupcommutationfromPlayback Record and from Recordto Playback, avoiding
