DESCRIPTIONThe ST75C185is ow power BICMOS device
containing three independent drivers and five
receivers thatis usedto interface data terminal
equipment (DTE) with data circuit-terminating
equipment (DCE). This device has been designed conformto Standards ANSI/EIA-232-E. The
drivers havea controlled output slew rate thatis
limitedtoa maximumof 30V/μs andthe receivers
have filters that reject input noise pulses thatare
shorter than 1μs. Both these features eliminate
the needof external components.
The ST75C185 hasn’ta power sequence fault
condition.It has been designed using low-power
techniquesina BICMOS technology. most applicationthe receivers containedin this
device will interfaceto single inputs peripheral
devices such as ACEs, UARTs or
microprocessors. By using sampling, such
peripheral devices are usually insensitivetothe
transition timesofthe input signals.If thisisnot
the case,orfor other uses,itis recommended that
the ST75C185 receiver outputsbe bufferedby
single gatesof the HCMOS, ALSor 74F logic
families.
