SG6849 —Low-Power, Green-Mode PWM Flyback Power Controller without Secondary Feedback December 2008 SG6849 Low-Power, Green-Mode PWM Flyback Power Controller without Secondary Feedback Features Description This highly integrated PWM controller provides several Linearly Decreasing PWM Frequency features to enhance the performance of low-power Green-Mode Under Light-Load and Zero-Load flyback converters. To minimize standby power Conditions consumption, the proprietary green-mode function provides off-time modulation to linearly decrease the Constant Voltage (CV) and Constant Current (CC) switching frequency under light-load and zero-load No Secondary Feedback conditions. This green-mode function enables the Low Startup Current: 5μA power supply to meet international power conservation requirements. Low Operating Current: 3.6mA The supply voltage V is also used for feedback DD Leading-Edge Blanking (LEB) compensation to regulate the output voltage without Constant Power Limit requiring a conventional TL431 and a photo-coupler. An advantage of the SG6849 is a typical startup current of Universal AC Input Range only 5µA, while the typical operating current can be as Synchronized Slope Compensation low as 3.6mA.
