General DescriptionThe SCANSTA112 extends the IEEE Std. 1149.1 test bus
intoa multidrop test bus environment. The advantageofa
multidrop approach overa single serial scan chainis im-
proved test throughput and the abilityto removea board
from the system and retain test accessto the remaining
modules. Each SCANSTA112 supports upto7 local
IEEE1149.1 scan chains which canbe accessed individually combined serially.
Addressingis accomplishedby loadingthe instruction regis-
ter witha value matching thatof the Slot inputs. Backplane
and inter-board testing can easilybe accomplishedby park-
ing the local TAP Controllersin oneofthe stable TAP Con-
troller statesviaa Park instruction. The 32-bit TCK counter
enables builtin self test operationstobe performedon one
port while other scan chainsare simultaneously tested.
The STA112 hasa unique featurein thatthe backplane port
andthe LSP0 port are bidirectional. They canbe configured alternativelyactasthe masteror slave portsoan alternate
test master can take controlofthe entire scan chain network
from the LSP0 port while the backplane port becomesa
slave.
