DESCRIPTIONThe PTN04050Cisa 4-pin boost-voltage regulator product.In new designsit should be consideredin placeof
the PT5040 seriesof positive step-up products. The PTN04050Cis smaller and lighter than its predecessors,
and has either similaror improved electrical performance characteristics. The case-less, double-sided package,
also exhibits improved thermal characteristics, andis compatible with TI's roadmap for RoHS and lead-free
compliance.
Operating overa 2.95Vto 5.5V input range, the PTN04050C provides high-efficiency, step-up voltage conversion
for loadsofupto 12W. The output voltageis set usinga single external resistor. The PTN04050C may be setto
any value within the range, 5Vto 15V. The output voltageof the PTN04050C can beas littleas 0.5V higher than
the input, allowingan output voltageof 5V, withan input voltageof 4.5V.
The PTN04050C modules are suitedtoa wide varietyof general-purpose applications that operateoff 3.3-Vor5-dc power.
