Description and Introduction

Low-Noise, High-Precision, JFET-Input Operational Amplifier # Introduction to the OPA827 Operational Amplifier

The OPA827 is a precision operational amplifier (op-amp) designed for high-performance applications requiring low noise, high accuracy, and wide bandwidth. It features an ultra-low input voltage noise density of 2.9 nV/√Hz at 1 kHz, making it well-suited for sensitive signal conditioning in instrumentation, medical devices, and audio systems.

With a high gain bandwidth product (GBW) of 22 MHz and a slew rate of 20 V/µs, the OPA827 delivers excellent dynamic performance while maintaining low distortion. Its low input bias current and offset voltage enhance precision in DC-coupled circuits, such as data acquisition systems and sensor interfaces.

The op-amp operates over a wide supply voltage range (±2.25 V to ±18 V), offering flexibility in both single and dual-supply configurations. Additionally, its robust output stage can drive capacitive loads, ensuring stability in complex circuit designs.

Engineers favor the OPA827 for its combination of low noise, high speed, and precision, making it a reliable choice for demanding analog applications where signal integrity is critical. Whether used in active filters, transimpedance amplifiers, or high-resolution ADCs, the OPA827 provides consistent performance under varying conditions.
