12-Bit Binary Counter The MC14040 is a 12-stage binary ripple counter from the MC14000B series of CMOS integrated circuits, manufactured by ON Semiconductor.

### **Description:**  
The MC14040 is a 12-bit binary counter with a built-in oscillator and reset function. It consists of 12 master-slave flip-flops connected in a ripple configuration. Each flip-flop divides the input clock frequency by 2, providing outputs at Q1 (divide by 2) through Q12 (divide by 4096).
