General DescriptionThe LP3999 regulatoris designedto meetthe requirements portable wireless battery-powered applications and will
providean accurate output voltage with low noise and low
quiescent current. Ideally suited for powering RF/Analog
devices this devicewill alsobe usedto meet more general
circuit requirements.
For battery powered applications the low dropout and low
ground current providedby the device allows the lifetimeof
the batterytobe maximized.The inclusionofan Enable(dis-
able) control canbe usedbythe systemto further extendthe
battery lifetimeby reducing the power consumptionto virtu-
ally zero. Should the application requirea device withan
active disable function please referto device LP3995.
The LP3999 also features internal protection against short-
circuit currents and over-temperature conditions.
The LP3999is designedtobe stable with small 1.0 µF
ceramic capacitors. The small outlineof the LP3999 micro
SMD package with the required ceramic capacitors can
realizea system application within minimal board area.
Performanceis specifiedfora −40˚Cto +125˚C temperature
range.
The deviceis availablein micro SMD package and LLP
