General DescriptionLP3936isa complete lighting management system de-
signedfor portable wireless applications.It containsa boost
DC/DC converter,4 white LED driversto drivethe main LCD
panel backlight,2 white LED driversfor sub-LCD panel andsetof RGB LED drivers.
Both WLED groups have 8-bit programmable constant cur-
rent drivers that are separately adjustable and matchedto (typ.). For efficient backlighting the backlight intensity
canbe adjusted using the 8-bit ADC with ambient light
detection circuit.
The RGB LED drivers are PWM-driven with programmable
color, intensity and blinking patterns.In addition, they feature FLASH functionto support picture taking with camera-
enabled cellular phones. efficient magnetic boost converter providesthe required
bias operating froma single Li-Ion battery. The DC/DC con-
verter output voltageis user programmablefor adaptingto
different LED types andfor efficiency optimization.All func-
tions are software controllable through anI2C and
MicroWire/SPI compatible interface and16 internal regis-
ters.
