General DescriptionThe LP2989LVisa 500 mA fixed-output voltage regulator
designedto provide high performance and low noisein
applications requiring output voltages< 2V.
Output noise canbe reducedto 18µV (typical)by connecting external10nF capacitortothe bypass pin.
Usingan optimized VIP™ (Vertically Integrated PNP) pro-
cess, the LP2989LV delivers superior performance:
Ground Pin Current: Typically3 mA@ 500 mA load, and
110µA@ 100µA load.
Sleep Mode: The LP2989LV draws less than0.8µA quies-
cent current when shutdownpinis pulled low.
Error Flag: The built-in error flag goes low when the output
drops approximately 5% below nominal.
Precision Output: Guaranteed output voltage accuracyis
0.75% (“A” grade) and 1.25% (standard grade)at room
temperature.
