Adjustable Micropower Low-Dropout Voltage Regulators
General DescriptionThe LP2952 and LP2953 are micropower voltage regulators
with very low quiescent current (130µA typicalat1 mA load)
and very low dropout voltage (typ.60 mVat light load and
470 mVat 250 mA load current). They are ideally suitedfor
battery-powered systems. Furthermore, the quiescent cur-
rent increases only slightlyat dropout, which prolongs bat-
tery life.
The LP2952 and LP2953 retainall the desirable character-
isticsof the LP2951, but offer increased output current,
additional features, andan improved shutdown function.
The internal crowbar pullsthe output down quickly whenthe
shutdownis activated.
The error flag goes lowif the output voltage drops outof
regulation.
Reverse battery protectionis provided.
The internal voltage referenceis made availablefor external
use, providinga low-T.C. reference with very good line and
load regulation.
The parts are availablein DIP and surface mount packages.
