General DescriptionThe LMX2370 monolithic, integrated dual frequency synthe-
sizer, including prescalers,is designedtobe usedasa first
and second local oscillatorfor dual modeor dual conversion
transceivers.Itis fabricated using National’s 0.5u ABiCV
silicon BiCMOS process. The LMX2370 contains two dual
modulus prescalers.A 32/33ora 16/17 prescaler canbe
selectedfor the Main synthesizer anda 16/17or8/9 pres-
caler canbe selectedforthe Aux synthesizer. Usinga digital
phase locked loop technique, the LMX2370 generates very
stable, low noise control signalsfor UHF and VHF voltage
controlled oscillators (VCOs). Serial datais transferred into
the LMX2370viaa1.8V three wire interface (Data, Enable,
Clock) compatible with low voltage baseband processors.
Supply voltage can range from 2.7Vto 5.5V. The LMX2370
features very low current consumption typically:-6.0 mAat
3V.
The LMX2370is availableina 24-pad chip scale (CSP),
24-pad thin chip scale (TCSP)or 20-pin TSSOP surface
mount plastic packages.
