General DescriptionThe LM9800isa high performance integrated signal
processor/digitizerfor linear CCD image scanners. The
LM9800 performsallthe analog processing (correlated
double samplingfor black level and offset compensation,
pixel-by-pixel gain adjust,and 8-bit analog-to-digital conver-
sion) necessaryto maximizethe performanceofa wide
rangeof linear CCD sensors.
The LM9800 canbe digitally programmedto work witha
wide varietyof CCDs from different manufacturers.An inter-
nal configuration register sets CCD and sampling timingto
maximize performance, simplifyingthe designand manufac-
turing processes.
The LM9800canbe usedwith sequentialor parallel output
colorCCDs. Coarse gain switching bringsweak Bluesignalsto Red/Green levelsfor best performance.For comple-
mentary voltage referenceseethe LM4041.
