General Description
The LM9074EPisa 5V, 3% accurate, 180 mA NPN voltage
regulator. The regulator featuresan active low delayed reset
output flag which canbe usedto reseta microprocessor
systemon turn-ON andinthe event thatthe regulator output
falls outof regulationfor any reason.An external capacitor
programsa delay time interval before the reset output can
return high.
Designedfor automotive applicationthe LM9074EPcontains varietyof protection features suchas reverse battery,
over-voltage shutdown, thermal shutdown, input transient
protection anda wide operating temperature range. unique two-input logic control schemeis usedto enableor
disable the regulator output.An ON/OFF input canbe pro-
videdbyan ignition switch derived signal whilea second,
Keep-Alive input,is generatedbya system controller. This
allowsfora systemto remain ON after ignition has been
switched OFF. The system controller can then executea
power-down routine and after which commandthe regulator
OFFtoa low quiescent current state (60µA max).
Design techniques have been employedto allow the regu-
latorto remain operational and not generate false reset
signals when subjectedto high levelsofRF energy (300V/m
from2 MHzto 400 MHz).
