General DescriptionThe LM75isa temperature sensor, Delta-Sigma analog-to-
digital converter, and digital over-temperature detector with2C® interface. The host can querythe LM75at any timeto
read temperature. The open-drain Overtemperature Shut-
down (O.S.) output becomes active when the temperature
exceedsa programmable limit. Thispin can operatein either
“Comparator”or “Interrupt” mode.
The host can program boththe temperature alarm threshold
(TOS) andthe temperatureat whichthe alarm condition goes
away (THYST).In addition, the host can read backthe con-
tentsofthe LM75’s TOS and THYST registers. Three pins (A0,
A1, A2) are available for address selection. The sensor
powersupin Comparator mode with default thresholdsof
80˚C TOS and 75˚C THYST.
The LM75’s 3.0Vto 5.5V supply voltage range, low supply
current andI2C interface makeit idealfora wide rangeof
applications. These include thermal management and pro-
tection applicationsin personal computers, electronic test
equipment, and office electronics.
