General DescriptionThe LM5008 Step Down Switching Regulator featuresallof
the functions neededto implementa low cost, efficient, Buck
bias regulator. This high voltage regulator containsan 100V
N-Channel Buck Switch. The deviceis easyto implement
andis providedinthe MSOP-8 and the thermally enhanced
LLP-8 packages. The regulatoris basedona hysteretic
control scheme usingan ON time inversely proportionalto
VIN. This feature allows the operating frequencyto remain
relatively constant. The hysteretic control requiresno loop
compensation. An intelligent current limitis implemented
with forced OFF time, whichis inversely proportionalto Vout.
This scheme ensures short circuit protection while providing
minimum foldback. Other protection features include: Ther-
mal Shutdown, VCC under-voltage lockout, Gate drive under-
voltage lockout, and Max Duty Cycle limiter
