General DescriptionThe LM4992isa stereo audio power amplifier primarily
designedfor demanding applicationsin mobile phones and
other portable communication device applications.Itis ca-
pableof delivering1 watt, per channel,of continuous aver-
age powertoan8Ω BTL load with less than 1% distortion
(THD+N) froma 5VDC power supply.
Boomer audio power amplifiers were designed specificallyto
provide high quality output power witha minimal amountof
external components. The LM4992 doesnot require output
coupling capacitorsor bootstrap capacitors, and thereforeis
ideally suitedfor mobile phone and other low voltage appli-
cations where minimal power consumptionisa primaryre-
quirement.
The LM4992 features independent shutdown control for
each channel anda low-power consumption shutdown
mode, whichis achievedby driving both shutdown pins with
logic low. Additionally,the LM4992 featuresan internal ther-
mal shutdown protection mechanism.
The LM4992 contains advanced pop& click circuitry which
eliminates noise which would otherwise occur during turn-on
and turn-off transitions.
The LM4992is unity-gain stable and canbe configuredby
external gain-setting resistors.
