General DescriptionThe LM4938isa monolithic integrated circuit that provides volume control, and stereo bridged audio power amplifi-
ers capableof producing 2W into4Ω (Note1) with less than
1.0% THDor 2.2W into 3Ω (Note2) with less than 1.0%
THD.
Boomer® audio integrated circuits were designed specifically provide high quality audio while requiringa minimum
amountof external components. The LM4938 incorporatesa volume control, stereo bridged audio power amplifiers
anda selectable gainor bass boost, makingit optimally
suitedfor multimedia monitors, portable radios, desktop, and
portable computer applications.
The LM4938 featuresan externally controlled, low-power
consumption shutdown mode, and botha power amplifier
and headphone mutefor maximum system flexibility and
performance.
