General DescriptionThe LM4893isan audio power amplifier primarily designed
for demanding applicationsin mobile phones and other por-
table communication device applications.Itis capableof
delivering 1.1 wattof continuous average powertoan 8Ω
BTL load with less than1% distortion (THD+N) froma 5VDC
power supply.
Boomer audio power amplifiers were designed specificallyto
provide high quality output power witha minimal amountof
external components. The LM4893 doesnot require output
coupling capacitorsor bootstrap capacitors, and thereforeis
ideally suitedfor lower-power portable applications where
minimal space and power consumption are primary require-
ments.
The LM4893 featuresa low-power consumption global shut-
down mode, whichis achievedby driving the shutdownpin
with logic low. Additionally, the LM4893 featuresan internal
thermal shutdown protection mechanism.
The LM4893 contains advanced pop& click circuitry which
eliminates noises which would otherwise occur during
turn-on and turn-off transitions.
The LM4893is unity-gain stable and canbe configuredby
external gain-setting resistors.
