General Description
The LM4863isa dual bridge-connected audio power ampli-
fier capableof delivering 1.1Wof continuousaverage poweran8X loadwith less than 0.5% (THD) usinga5V power
supply.In addition, enablingthe headphone inputpin allows
the amplifierstobe operatedin single-ended modeto drive
stereo headphones.
Boomer audio power amplifiers were designed specifically provide high quality output power froma surface mount
package while requiringa minimal amountof external com-
ponents. Sincethe LM4863 incorporates both dual bridge
speaker driveand stereo headphone functionalityon chip,it optimally suitedfor multimedia environments.
The LM4863 featuresan externally controlled, low-power
consumption shutdown mode,a stereo headphone amplifier
mode,and thermal shutdown protection.It also utilizescir-
cuitryto reduce ‘‘clicksand pops’’ during device turn-on.
The closed loop responseofthe unity-gain stable LM4863,
canbe configuredby external gain-setting resistors.
