General DescriptionThe LM4862is abridge-connected audio poweramplifierca-
pableof delivering typically675 mWof continuous average
powertoan8Ω loadwith1% (THD) froma5V powersupply.
Boomer audiopower amplifiers were designed specificallyto
provide high quality output powerwitha minimal amountof
external components. Sincethe LM4862 doesnot require
output coupling capacitors, bootstrap capacitors,or snubber
networks,itis optimally suitedfor low-power portable sys-
tems.
The LM4862 featuresan externally controlled, low-power
consumption shutdown mode,aswellasan internal thermal
shutdown protection mechanism.
The unity-gain stable LM4862canbe configuredby external
gain-setting resistors.
