General DescriptionThe LM4857isan integrated audio sub-system designedfor
stereo cell phone applications. Operatingona 3.3V supply,it
combinesa stereo speaker amplifier delivering 495mW per
channel intoan8Ω load,a stereo headphone amplifier de-
livering 33mWper channel intoa 32Ω load,a mono earpiece
amplifier delivering 43mW intoa 32Ω load, anda line output
foran external powered handsfree speaker.It integratesthe
audio amplifiers, volume control, mixer, power management
control, and National3D enhancementall intoa single pack-
age.In addition, the LM4857 routes and mixes the stereo
and mono inputs into16 distinct output modes. The LM4857 controlled throughanI2C compatible interface. Other fea-
tures includean ultra-low current shutdown mode and ther-
mal shutdown protection.
Boomer audio power amplifiers are designed specificallyto
provide high quality output power witha minimal amountof
external components.
The LM4857is availableina 30-bump ITL package anda
28–lead LLP package.
