General DescriptionThe LM137HV/LM337HVare adjustable 3-terminal negative
voltage regulators capableof supplyingin excessof −1.5A
overan output voltage rangeof −1.2Vto −47V. These regu-
lators areexceptionally easyto apply, requiringonly2 exter-
nal resistorstosetthe output voltageand1 output capacitor
forfrequency compensation. Thecircuitdesignhas beenop-
timizedfor excellent regulation andlow thermal transients.
Further,the LM137HV series features internal current limit-
ing, thermal shutdownand safe-area compensation, making
them virtually blowout-proof against overloads.
The LM137HV/LM337HV servea wide varietyof applica-
tions including local on-card regulation,
programmable-output voltage regulationor precision current
regulation.The LM137HV/LM337HVare ideal complementsthe LM117HV/LM317HV adjustable positive regulators.
