General Description
The LM135 seriesare precision, easily-calibrated, integrat- circuit temperature sensors. Operatingasa 2-terminal
zener,the LM135hasa breakdown voltage directly propor-
tionalto absolute temperatureat a10 mV/§K. With less
than1X dynamic impedancethe device operates overa
current rangeof400mAto5mA with virtuallyno changein
performance. When calibratedat 25§Cthe LM135has typi-
cally less than1§C error overa 100§C temperature range.
Unlike other sensorsthe LM135hasa linear output.
Applicationsforthe LM135 include almostany typeof tem-
perature sensing overa b55§Cto a150§C temperature
range.Thelow impedanceand linear output make interfac-
ingto readoutor control circuitry especially easy.
The LM135operates overa b55§Cto a150§C temperature
range whilethe LM235 operates overa b40§Cto a125§C
temperature range. The LM335 operates from b40§Cto
a100§C. The LM135/LM235/LM335are available pack-
agedin hermetic TO-46 transistor packages while the
LM335is also availablein plastic TO-92 packages.
