General DescriptionThe LM2791isa CMOS charge-pump voltage doubler and
regulator that provides two regulated current sources. The
LM2791is designedto drive two white(or blue) LEDs with
matched currents (within± 0.3%)to produce balanced light
sourcesfor display backlights. They acceptan input voltage
range from 3Vto 5.8V and maintaina constant current
determinedbyan externalset resistor.
The LM2791 deliversupto 36mAof load currentto accom-
modate two high forward voltage (typically white) LEDs. The
switching frequencyis 450kHz (min.)to keepthe conducted
noise spectrum away from sensitive frequencies within por-
tableRF devices.the LM2791, brightnessis controlledby applyinga voltage
between GND and 3.0Vto the BRGT pin. The LM2791is
availablein active highor low shutdown versions. The shut-
downpin reduces the operating currentto 1µA (max.).
The LM2791is availableina10 pin leadless leadframe
(LLP) CSP package.
