General DescriptionThe LM2727isa high-speed, N-Channel synchronous buck
regulator controller witha 0.6V feedback reference voltage.
The LM2727/37 employsa fixed-frequency voltage-mode
PWM control architecture thatis adjustable from 50KHzto
2MHz throughan external resistor. The wide rangeof PWM
frequencies givesthe power supply designerthe flexibilityto
make tradeoffs among component size, cost, noise and
efficiency. The power MOSFETs canrunona separate 2.2V 16Vrail making the device idealfor highly efficient 3.3V
conversion. The regulatoris biased froma 4.5V-5.5V, 2mA
rail. Power-good flag, enable and soft start features make
power sequencing easy. Protection features include output
under-voltage and over-voltage latch-off (LM2727 only) and
current limit. Current limitis achievedby monitoring the
voltage drop acrosstheon resistanceof the low-side MOS-
FET. The adaptive non-overlapping MOSFET gate drivers
help avoid potential shoot-through problems while maintain-
ing high efficiency. Both high-side and low-side MOSFETs
are lower cost N-Channel type, and theIC can accepta
bootstrap structureto saturate the high-side MOSFETfor
highest efficiency. The output voltageis adjustable downto
0.6V.
