The LM25576is an easyto use buck regulator which
allows design engineers to design and optimizea
robust power supply usinga minimum set of
components. Operating withan input voltage rangeofVto 42V, the LM25576 delivers3Aof continuous
output current with an integrated 170-mΩ N-Channel
MOSFET. The regulator utilizes an Emulated Current
Mode architecture which provides inherent line
regulation, tight load transient response, and easeof
loop compensation without the usual limitationof low-
duty cycles associated with current mode regulators.
The operating frequencyis adjustable from 50 kHzto MHzto allow optimizationof size and efficiency. To
reduce EMI,a frequency synchronization pin allows
multiple IC’s from the LM(2)557x family to self-
synchronizeorto synchronizeto an external clock.
The LM25576 ensures robustness with cycle-by-cycle
current limit, short-circuit protection, thermal shut-
