General DescriptionThe AC2DC driverisan integrated high voltage triple CRT
driver circuit designedfor usein color monitor applications.
The input signal interfaceto theICisa multiplexed signal
containing both clamp and video signal information, relativea 1.7 VDC reference.
TheIC contains three high gain, high input impedance, wide
band amplifiers which directly drive the RGB cathodesofa
CRT. Each channel hasits gain internallysetto −52 and can
drive CRT capacitive loadsas wellas resistive loads present other applications, limited onlyby the package’s power
dissipation.
Integrated withthe driveris triple clamp circuitforDC recov-
eryof eachoftheAC coupled outputs. The DC clamp circuit
amplifies the clamp signal thatis multiplexedon the video
signal input. The DC clamp amplifiers are high gain, highin-
put impedance amplifiers, settinga low impedance DC level the clamp output which canbe usedto restore the DC
levelofthe cathode drive. Each channel hasa gain thatisin-
ternallysetto +73.
Also integrated within the packageisa40 VP-P vertical
blanking driver thatis designedto provide vertical retrace
blankingonG1of the CRT. Thisisa current limited, lowim-
pedance output capableof driving normalG1 decouplingca-
pacitances viaan external resistor. The outputof the G1
driver can alsobe usedto drivea voltage boost capacitor(22
μF). When connected betweentheG1 drive output and the
120V supply input pin,a 120V boost supplyis achieved
which canbe usedto drive the internal DC clamp circuit,
thereby eliminatingthe requirementfora 120V clamp supply.
TheICis packagedinan industry standard 15-lead TO-220
molded plastic power package.
