General Description
The LM1815isan adaptive sense amplifierand defaultgat-
ing circuitfor motor control applications.The sense amplifi- providesa one-shot pulse output whose leading edge
coincideswiththe negative-going zero crossingofa ground
referenced input signal suchas froma variable reluctance
magnetic pick-up coil. normal operation,this timing reference signalis process- (delayed) externallyand returnedtothe LM1815.A logic
inputis then ableto select eitherthe timing referenceorthe
processed signalfor transmissiontothe output driverstage.
The adaptive sense amplifier operateswitha positive-going
threshold whichis derivedby peak detectingthe incoming
signaland dividingthis down. Thusthe input hysteresisvar-
ies with input signal amplitude. This enablesthe circuitto
sensein situations wherethe high speed noiseis greater
thanthelow speed signal amplitude. Minimum input signal100 mVp-p.
