DESCRIPTIONThe LD1580isa very low dropout positive linear
voltage regulator particularly suitable in
applications requiring output currentsupto7A.
The LD1580 typical dropout voltageis 400mV at while it decreases at
lighter loads.
This very low dropoutis achieved thankstoa
second input voltage pin, named VCONTROL,
whichis also responsableof the output power
stage driving.
The LD1580is provided with an output voltage
remote sense pin which reduces dramatically any
output voltage variations that could occur dueto
load changes. fixed voltage devices, the ADJ pinis still
available.A small capacitor on this pin helpsto
improve transient response.

limit function anda thermal shutdown protection
with hysteresis which prevents from excessive
power dissipation in case of insufficient
heatsinking. On chip trimming allows the regulator reacha very tight output voltage tolerance,

over the full temperature range.
