General Description
The DS8921, DS8921Aare Differential Line DriverandRe-
ceiver pairs designed specificallyfor applications meeting
the ST506, ST412and ESDI Disk Drive Standards.In addi-
tion, these devices meetthe requirementsoftheEIA Stan-
dard RS-422.
The DS8921, DS8921Areceivers offer aninputsensitivityof
200mV overa g7V common mode operating range. Hys-
teresisis incorporated (typically70 mV)to improve noise
marginfor slowly changing input waveforms.
The DS8921, DS8921A driversare designedto provideuni-
polar differential driveto twistedpairor parallel wire trans-
mission lines. Complementary outputsare logically ANDed
and providean output skewof0.5 ns(typ.)with propagation
delaysof12ns.
The DS8921, DS8921Aare designedtobe compatiblewith
TTLand CMOS.
