Fail-Safe)
General DescriptionThe DS78LS120isa high performance, dual differential, TTL
compatible line receiverfor both balanced and unbalanced
digital data transmission. The inputs are compatible with
EIA, Federal and MIL standards.
The line receiver will discriminatea ±200 mV input signal
overa common-mode rangeof ±10V anda ±300mV signal
overa rangeof ±15V.
Circuit features include hysteresis and response controlfor
applications where controlled rise andfall times and/or high
frequency noise rejection are desirable. Threshold offset
controlis providedfor fail-safe detection, shouldthe inputbe
openor short. Each receiver includesan optional 180Ω
terminating resistor and the output gate containsa logic
strobefor time discrimination. The DS78LS120is specified
overa −55˚Cto +125˚C temperature range.
Input specifications meetor exceed thoseof the popular
DS7820 line receiver.
