General DescriptionThe DS7820Aandthe DS8820Aare improved performance
digitalline receivers withtwo completely independent units
fabricatedona singlesilicon chip.Intendedforusewith digi-
tal systems connectedby twistedpair lines, they haveadif-
ferential input designedto reject large common modesig-
nals whilerespondingto small differential signals.The output directly compatible withTTLorLS integrated circuits.
The responsetimecanbe controlledwithan external capaci-
torto reject input noise spikes.The output stateisa logic“1”
for both inputs open. Termination resistorsforthe twisted
pairlineare also includedinthe circuit. Boththe DS7820A
andthe DS8820Aare specified, worst case, over theirfull
operating temperature range (−55˚Cto +125˚Cand0˚Cto
70˚C respectively), overthe entire input voltage range,for
±10% supply voltage variations.
